‘TERRITORIAL’ follows the release of his critically acclaimed 2022 debut album, A Colour Undone, which delved into themes of identity, family ties, trauma, resilience, and self-empowerment. The album featured collaborations with notable artists like Kwame, Phil Fresh, Genesis Owusu, and Jessica Mauboy and received significant recognition, earning nominations at major Australian music awards, including the ARIA Music Awards, National Indigenous Music Awards, and the Australian Music Prize.

Throughout 2023, Tasman focused on personal growth and deep self-discovery while collaborating with a diverse range of artists, including Goanna, Mali Jo$e, Adrian Dzvuke, Holy Holy, Emily Wurramurra, and JK-47, in an impressive series of genre-defying features.​
