LAMB – Build A Fire
27 Oct 2011
Build A Fire is the first single from LAMB’s highly acclaimed album, ‘5’. This unique single package features a collection of strikingly ambitious and creative collaborations, mixes and remixes by both Australian and UK artists.
With their respective bands, Jonathan Boulet and Alyx Dennison (kyü) have become renowned for creating some of the most innovative music permeating the airwaves. Collaborating together for the first time ever on Build A Fier, the twosome have created one of the most breathtaking reinterpretations of the year. The pair create a vast uplifting sonic sound scape with Alyx’s vibrant, otherworldly choral vocals complimented with the melancholic offering by Boulet.
Sydney’s Domeyko Gonzalez love of experimentation is evident on Rebuild A Fire, with the duo using their favourite musical tools; guitars, noise, electronica, post rock, dance music and micro-tonal music, to reconstruct the song while never losing sight of the original framework.
Andy Barlow under the guise of his solo project, LOWB reworks Build A Fire into a beats-oriented, synth-happy single.
Hugely respected Italian born London based producer/composer Gaudi has a long list of official remixes and collabs including Fatboy Slim, Bob Marley, Simple Minds, Michael Franti and The Orb. Organically fusing dub, world beat and electronica Gaudi spreads the fire across new frontiers.
Brighton DJ/producers Evil9 (Tom Beaufoy/Pat Pardy) who are currently on tour in Australia, have produced remixes for Adam Freeland, Timo Maas, IIs and UNKLE. Having developed a reputation for pushing the boundaries of breakbeat, the pair offer an anthemic reinterpretation of LAMB’s Build A Fire.
‘Build A Fire’ is released through iTunes on 1 November 2011 on Strata Music.
‘5’ is OUT NOW through Strata Music / MGM.
